I have a 2020 F350 6.7l that is scheduled to visit my dealership tomorrow for a PCM / TCM update. The update, 22E04, states that it is a reprogram. Truck is new to me, 19K miles, and is running perfectly. Daily driver averaging 19.7 mpg. Does anyone know what this reprogramming is for, or why it is needed? I cannot find anything online regarding this one.

Thank you!
I just got the same recall on my 2021 F350 DRW 6.7L. I have the truck camper on it so I won't be taking it in until 2nd week if August (when truck camper is off)
So I had a MIL set last Fall with a code of P2209, I fixed it by replacing the 1-1 NOx sensor at 53K miles on my 2020. Easy fix. Hardest part was pulling the wiring harness retainer on the top of the frame. No problems since then. If this is truly a pre-heat issue, I am still at risk of losing another $130 sensor.
I'm just leery of the Feds forcing a flash under the guise of sensor issues to detune this awesome engine. And that's from someone who has actually lost a NOx sensor. I'm on the fence as to whether or not to have it performed. Guess a reduction in emissions warranty might force the issue.
To date, I've put in 84 gallons of DEF while driving just over 51K miles pulling roughly 10K pounds 25% of the time. Figures out to right around the 600 miles per gallon that is used as a metric for DEF/diesel usage.
Just received this recall notice.
As stated above, seems strange to just now be getting a notice for a recall that has been out since February.
My truck has over 113K on it so far, never any emissions related codes popped.
Guess I can call the dealer and see how long for them to see about this update.
