[updated:LAST EDITED ON 24-Dec-02 AT 07:54 PM (EST)]Hi everyone. Sister and brother in law have a 2002 PSD and if it gets below 1/4 of a tank, it dies. Bro in law believes it's the fuel pickup or something related I can't remember right now. Who spiked the eggnog? Oh it was me! Sorry. They would have brought it to the dealer but bro in law is working out West and sis is tied up with a newborn, household duties, and trying to keep sane one day at a time. Mild mannered but a speed demon bro in law works on heavy equipment including a fleet of ford turbo monster hauling trucks. Know's his stuff. You couldn't get him to drive anything else. He works with some real nimrods that don't know anything but to keep one pedal to the floor most of the time. Some examples:
Hey Woody
What's up Tony
I think my truck needs some coolant
Why's that
Because the heater was blowing cold air
"Checks coolant, bites tongue and loses patience"
Hey Einstein, it's __ gallons low
Oh
Or this one
Hey Woody
How ya doing George
I think my truck needs some oil
"Groan" Why's that
Because the oil pressure gauge is bouncing all over the place
You guessed right if Woody added __ gallons of good old Rotella
Long live the 7.3 beast. May the 6.0 carry on the tradition. Happy holidays to all:-X12
I find it hard to believe that Ford would put the pickup anywhere else than at the bottom of the tank , but it is a Ford product. I also have a 2002 PSD , but i usually don't let my fiel go down past a half tank.
I dunno. I'll just keep buggin' em to get it fixed. The darn thing is growing on me. Just don't need something that big. Nothing like the roar of the big boy.
