Transmission replacement

Will a transmission from a 06 crown Vic 4.6 work in my 08 f150 4.2

No.

4.6 uses the "Modular Engine" bell to engine pattern.

4.2 uses the "Small Block Ford" (302, 351, 300 & others) pattern.

everything seems to line up except the s t after bolts could I not just get the starter off a crown vic?
