Hey guys,
Found out my steering box is shot, and I know there is red and blue options but can't seem to figure out the difference.
Is there one better suited to 2wd applications?
Appreciate any and all info
Redhead did mine. I've yet to put it to the test but I went off of the reputation they had which, as mentioned above, is quite immaculate. Again, no experience with actually using the steering gear yet, but their customer service was excellent and their folks were more than pleasant to deal with.
The biggest problem I had was shipping. I foolishly shipped the thing out there on my own without asking as to whether or not they get a discounted rate and could send me a label (they can) and it cost me big time. It's very heavy, and with their outfit being in Washington state, it's a long distance. It's going to be even worse with you being in MA. Call Redhead and ask if they can get you a decent rate to ship your core.
X2 on Red Head and or Blue Top, both have a great reputation. As I understand it Red Head was around 1st and Blue Top is a spin off company of relatives from RH. X2 on make the call and get the shipping label. Follow their guidance on getting it shipped/drained/core refund. I believe you can order box now (and pay the no core up front fee), get the new box installed. And then ship your old one back in their shipping box, to get the core charge back. Heavy and $$ to ship.
