2017 XLT, this might be a dumb question..but do these trucks have a factory voltage meter? If so, I cannot find it in my cluster or menu's, or can Forescan open one? I ask before a install an aftermarket one. Thanks.

These trucks do not have a voltmeter with a user interface. These trucks do have a fairly sophisticated BMS that monitors battery voltages and allocates power to modules depending on state of charge. You'll have to bypass the BMS if you want a meaningful (true) battery voltage reading. If you do not bypass the BMS you'll see voltage reading fluctuate often as the BMS adjusts voltage output.
Those of us with the earlier trucks, 17-19, may not have much of a BMS (Forscan image from my 2019 below), and Ford doesn't include a battery V gauge view in the dash. I have used my OBD adapter and app to monitor battery V. On my truck, while running, there isn't much change. It stays in the upper 14 volt range.
Usually sits at 14.7 but will sometimes drop to 14.5 volts.
That has been my experience with this 2019 too. I was concerned at first, because I'm used to voltage starting out above 14v after start up on my other vehicles, but then dropping under 14v fairly soon while driving. I have taken the fact that this Super Duty stays mid to upper 14's, even on extended drives, as being normal.

Yeah, that's been my experience too... 14.5V seems to be the normal on my 22. Although, I have seen it drop into the high 13's too... I really don't know what it means. But I too use the iDash to keep an eye on the voltage, as well as lots of other parameters!
My alternator has always run at ~14.4-14.7 and this evening it was running along at 13.7-13.9. Not sure what's going on but I think I know... I did make it home so I will dig into it this weekend.
