2018 XLT HEAD LIGHTS
Helping out my sister with her 2018 Explorer XLT and when I enter the VIN to order the left LED headlight assembly it comes back as a base model. My ford experience is an XL is that. I’ve order from an after market parts company that warned me it wouldn’t work but I tried it anyway and sure enough the LED control/ power module has a different electrical connector so no joy. The Explorer doesn’t have fog lights but the harness is there so that means base model? The light assembly from ford or Oreilly’s is 1200$ but the aftermarket ones are 305-330$ so that’s why I tried aftermarket. I had to remove the front bumper cover assembly to access it and that wasn’t too bad. Does anyone have experience with the vin number coming up as a base model or an aftermarket solution?
Everyone wrecks the front end or drivers side so I’m out of luck with junk yards in this area so far
