I'm curious as to what you all have for stereos in your trucks.
Factory? Custom? Mine's a bit of both: Factory AM/FM stereo/cassette, added an AudioVox Eq./100watt Amp, Pioneers in the doors, two 6 by 9's in the ext. cab (in boxes).
Sounds really really nice. The equalizer has an input plug. I mount my portable cd player behind the passenger seat with velcro and run a single wire to the Eq./Amp. The Eq./Amp. is tucked under the dash below the ash-tray. I'm able to bypass the stereo, which is a good thing. I get aftermarket sound without having to replace the factory stereo. I hate these new stereos that stick out of the dash. I like the stock look.
As for myself, i've got a blaupunkt Miami cd head unit, two 6.5 Cerwin Vegas in the doors along with 2 6x9's of some type, and a sub behind the seat. No amp to the sub yet, but it plays well though.
Pioneer H/U, Jensen 340 W Amp, 1 RF 10'' sub, pioneer 2-way 6x8s, pioneer 3 way 6.5s.. It sounds nice. Perfect for some old rock or some country. Replacing the factory headunit is probably the best sound upgrade you can do in my mind.
I, for one, believe in great sound in my truck. I listen to country music loud, and I like it clear.
I have a Pioneer CD player head unit, Focal 6 1/2 component speakers in the front, with 3" tweeters and a crossover in each door panel. In the rear I have two Rockford Fosgate 2-ways. Also I have a 200W mono amp and a Rockford 8" sub, along with a Neo Jukebox MP3 player. Sounds awesome and I never have to fool around with CD's because of the MP3 player.
The sub is adjusted to add just a little kick to complete the sound, not to rattle windows and annoy others, as kids these days are fond of doing. It sounds really good.
pioneer cd deck, pioneer gmh-44 amp (oldie, but a goodie) 6 1/2 pioneer componets in the doors, and 1" tweets on the dash. 12" cerwin dvc sub behind the seat. sounds good, and it'll work when ya want it to..
I run a Kenwood 7080R deck
Lanzar 6" in the doors
Lanzar 6x8 in the pillars
PPI 6600 competition power class amp
ESX C-series 12 sub (46mm of travel) man it pounds so hard
I have a good "hook-up" (legally) so all my equipment is for competition
custom box on rear bench speaker fires into floor so bass is no directional box folds up over seat so rear passengers have a cup holder
