Inside fuel tanks

Good evening i dropped my fuel tanks both front and rear. I was having loss of power issues and after changing out the fuel pump due to a leak i could see I still had the loss of power issue. That being said i decided to drop my tanks and check the sending units. Both the plastic pickup nozzle with the screen where gone and in 100 pieces in the tank. Im thinking this is my issue on losing power i would suck up a piece and there ya go. Loss of power was intermittent and would leave me stranded somewhere along my journey but never within a repeating time always at random. ANYWAYS here are pics of the inside of my tanks the front one concerns me. Should i replace it? The back one looks fine once i clean it all out.

Fill the tanks with rust remover watered down and let them sit overnight or a couple of days, rust will disintegrate and leave that tank clean.

Since you already there do the hutch mod by getting rid of the shower heads and installing pipe instead.

Not a detailed "how to" but gives you an idea of how I did the in tank mods.

$88 and $109 on amazon, if you don't mind your spare tire in the bed upgrade the rear tank to a bronco tank, 38 gal iirc

Evaporust works well and would clean it. It would have plenty of life left to reuse for other projects...just filter with cheese cloth.

Ok i'll research and try the rust remover suggestion. Its not a daily driver for me so I have time. I have seen those mods and will definately remove the shower head while the tanks are dropped. Any other ideas while i have tanks dropped and fuel system not active?

I have a flat bed on the truck so was going to mount the spare up on the headache rack anyways. I may look harder into this 38 gallon upgrade!
