4X4 not engaging ???
I'm not as high tech as you guys so I'll try to explain my problem in english. I've got an F250 SD 2000 V10.
Last year I started having problems with 4WD not engaging - dealer replaced the hubs in late spring (still under warranty back then.) Thought that was the problem. Never had much use for 4WD all summer so thought everything was great.
Last week got stuck in a bean field with brand new tires switched into 4X4 (electronic) and nothing - tried low - still nothing - locked the hubs and crawled out.
I've played with it with the hubs locked and it seems to engage most of the time - sometimes some noise when disengaging.
I suspect my wife may have put it 4Low by accident - anything I can start looking at or just take it to the mechanic and bend over?
Just kidding he's a friend - any ideas?

Per the owners manual, the ESOF is designed to shift on the move. If you're stopped, you may have to drive the vehicle at least 5 mph to engage the hubs in 4Hi.
Yep! That's what it says. Sounds really stupid to me, but it means you really should anticipate the need for 4WD and switch in ahead of time. I think this is probably the real reason that there's a manual lock on the front hubs. So if you forget and get stuck, you still have a way to engage 4x4 operation.
