3.8L dual exaust
A friend of mine has a 94 mustang with a 3.8l v6, he is looking to put dual exhaust on it, but doesn't want it to sound hollow, is there any way to make the sound stay deep, and sound a little more like a v8, what should he run and how much will it cost,

Yes, plop a v8 in there. J/K, For a deep tone, I would suggest Gibson mufflers, and probably 2.25" piping (plenty large for that motor). Does he care about interior resonance? What is the exact kind of sound he is looking to achieve? Raspy? Deep? Dare I say...fart can muffler? The gibsons are quiet in the cab, and some say dont make enough noise at the tail end, so thats one thing to think about. I will wait for a response back before I start spewing more blasphemy.

He is looking for more of a deep sound, he definetly doesn't want the fart can sound, and I'm sure he would be happy to here it inside,(he is 16 years old) to tell you the truth he wants it to sound like a v-8, he says he has heard 6 bangers sound like them before, but I think it would be hard for a 6 banger to sound like a v-8, b/c it is not a v-8, I think he probably doesn't care about performance only the sound

Well then, get a Flowmaster. You will definatley hear it in the cab, and it is one of the most popular muffler manufacturers on the market. Everyone and their uncle has run, or is running one. I had a Flowmaster 70 series delta on an old 76 F250, and I liked the sound of it. You might want to check the flowmaster site to see if they have anything. Also, check out www.exhaustsoundclips.com to see if they have anything similar up there.
