Smog test in Kalifornia

I have a 2000 f250 4x4 8800 GVW v10 extended cab truck with 135k miles.

Anyone knowledgeable about how the actual test is done on these?

my question is the truck just idled at two different rpms or on the rollers ,

‘This was a Florida truck with 49 state emissions setup and has no egr from new.

smog guys have been using the OBD1 which is this trucks emissions setup. Built 8/25/1999 (Kentucky)?

‘’the stations owner wondered if the test should be only the two idle speeds. Not the rollers.

anyone?

If it's too long, or over 5,000 lbs unloaded on the rear axle, no rollers. There may be other factors.

If it's running good, all the stuff is there, it should pass either way.

As long as the testing station uses the correct procedure for >8500# vehicles, it should be no issues unless something pops up.

The problems that are usually seen occur when the station tries to test it as an OBDII vehicle inappropriately.

There are a number of threads about this in the Super Duty and Excursion forums.

from what I read pre OBD 11 vehicles that are not full time 4x4 or that weigh less than 5k pounds on the rear axle unloaded are roller tested

I've taken the V10 Super Duty in 2x and it passed with flying colors (does not have an EGR). The guy who did it last time said "I've never seen one of these fail". I can't remember if he put it on rollers or not, but I am pretty sure it was idle only.

None of my vehicles go on the rollers with one exception. A 1995 S500. Everything else just gets the sniffer and OBD connection. My diesels get a visual and a OBD connector test.
