Anyone got a good blue or smoked bug deflector for one of these? I'm near Sacramento CA and looking for one for my 78 f250. I know they're hard to find.
I bought two smoked ones at an antique mall not long ago, largest indoor one now, in Verona ... "The Factory Antique Mall" ... were $5 each ... just to get the aluminum extruded lower track / trough / whatever. The smoked plexiglass is easy to change if scratched or broke. I used to have a red one, it got broke one cold day, I changed it to clear real easy. Guy has several old truck scales like we used to weigh log / dump / etc trucks.
I do not want to sell either, but just saying you might look in local antique malls. Always some several vendors dealing in old auto / truck stuff.
I've got one on my 2nd gen Bronco. While I think I prefer the look more with it off, I leave it on because in my testing it made a significant difference in gas mileage at freeway speeds. It definitely throws the air up higher so it doesn't hit the windshield as much. You can see it when it's snowing and one of the downsides is that it makes the ankle vents not work very well because there isn't as high of pressure pushing air in.
