Rear Cab mount plugs

I realize in many places it states these holes are 1 1/2" but since I replaced my entire cab back a 1 1/2" plug falls right thru. Since my bed is mounted and the inside of my cab has been covered with sound deadening I can't get an accurate measurement on the hole size. Has anyone run across this and if so what size plugs did you end up using?

I had to use black adhesive to keep mine in place after my 54 was repaired and painted.

How many of your plugs are now forever lost between the cab corner and the inside cab sound deadening? LOL

You might check to see if a plug used to block off an unused electrical knock out would work. Very similiar in style and a variety of sizes available.

Greg, that's what I bought that don't fit.

Brian, I'd like to get rubber plugs so they can be removed to take the cab off. The problem is I don't know what size these holes are. Very possible the holes are even metric. I'd bet the cab back was made in China.

I don't why your back panel is different than mine, hard to believe that more than one die is used to stamp these, any chance the body shop opened them up?

BJ, is your whole back panel a reproduction piece? If so that's why, I'm thinking.

Were they there for strength?

Those are plug welds that attach it to the rear support, mine is one piece also, I bought it after seeing you were using one!

You can get a weather resistant style. They are a 2 piece with a rubber gasket.
