Hi, I have a 1978 FORD F250 2WD with a 460. It is just finishing up some body work and new paint. I am trying to get a truck like I used to have in high school. Not show quality, but nice looking and spunky. I am not super knowledgeable in this area since I am just getting back into it. What are some basic recommendations and I know it depends a lot on budget, what I am looking to do etc. I remember from HS I had headers, slight cam, Edlebrock high rise manifold, Holley 4 barrel, shift kit, etc. Should I be investigating the same type of enhancements? Please be kind as I am just starting. Than you.
Yes you should
Only consideration is with fuel quality IMO
If the nuts in charge get their way, we all will need a still in the backyard to drive our hotrods
Might want to build something a bit more exotic that will run on E85
Around here I can still get 105 octane leaded fuel but it's 9-11 bucks a gallon
I mix it with alky free premium and that works for my present hotrods
