Help

I have a 04 f150 5.4 triton.i was driving home from work today and my truck started to spudder and check engine started flashing.i made it off the road but lost power and truck died and battery light came on.i tried to start it and it won't even click.any suggestions on what this issue would be.thanks in advanced...I'm stumped.

Based on what you've described so far, I suspect the alternator is not charging.

To test: charge the battery, try to start it. If it starts, check voltage at the battery posts.

To get even more (and better) answers, try starting a thread over in the "2004 - 2008 F150" forum.

Don't take what I say as law but a blinking check engine light usually means a timing/missing issue. When you put the metal down does sputter and the surge?

Ya it did,it won't turn over now ,won't crank nothing but put a computer on it and it says miss fire on 3 and 4.im starting to think it's a timing issue also.or something to do with cams or something on passenger side.ive had it up at the shop and probably going to have it towed somewhere cause it has me puzzled

I agree with a possible alternator issue. But a starter solenoid could also be putting a constant draw on the battery causing the no start. The timing is based off of oil pressure and it's sensitive. Once you get it running listen to your vct solenoids. You should hear a rhythmic clicking. I would also suspect a tune up is due. New plugs and coil packs can't hurt
