So, I recently bought a 1998 F150 3 door 4WD with the 4.6L. (one owner and less than 150k miles!!) Loving the truck, but the armrest is missing off of the driver's seat. Factory bucket seats with a low console between them, and those skinny fold-down arm rests.
Have looked all over the interwebs and cannot find one. Parts warehouses all list the item as discontinued, and can't even find a replacement seat that has the armrest intact for any kind of a decent price!
So, 2 questions:
Is this just a "keep your eye out at the salvage yard" thing?
And, shot in the dark: Do the armrests from similar vintage E series vans maybe share the same mounting hardware? (because those are easy to find)
The seats are cloth and grey in color. I think Ford calls it Granite. Attached is a picture of the passenger arm rest and what remains of the driver's mechanism. Thanks for the response
!!!
Well, That's how you replace them if you can find one
You peel back the fabric sometimes / usually a zipper underneath
Then painstakingly remove the torx bolt and the armrest comes off
Best luck at the junkyard to find one?
