I recently swapped a 4.0 out of a 91 Explorer into my 88 BII. Everything's worked perfectly up until yesterday when the alternator light came on at idle. When I revved the engine up the light would go out. I had the alternator checked at Schucks and it checked out OK. I cleaned the battery terminals and thought I'd fixed the problem but it returned in short order. When I start the BII the alternator light will be off, but after driving for a while it will come on at idle. The rpm's required to make the light go out steadily increase until it is on all the time. When I shut the vehicle off and restart it the light will be off until the motor has run for a little while and the process repeats. I'm not sure what's going on. Any ideas?
Oh and I forgot to mention I now have a constant static buzz on the radio that wasn't there before.

devildog hey guy sounds like a ground problem with the charging
system make sure you have sufficent ground & all your battery cables are new. If this does not fix your problem remove the alternator & have it bench tested at Schucks.
good luck turbo ted
