This survivor truck is in need of having some details about it filled in, if anybody can help with decoding the warranty plate. Thanks in advance!
Info from data plate located on the back edge of front door:

The truck is factory equipped with a 292 V8, but the hood badge is for a non-V8, the gear/lightning bolt that usually indicates a 6 cylinder engine.
It has a 292 Y-block V8 and T-98 4spd in it. When did FoMoCo start using the Z-bar clutch setup instead of the hydraulic clutch linkage again? Because this truck also has the hydraulic clutch linkage, too.
If you show a photo of the cowl it will be easier to tell if the cab is a 64 or 65. In the 4x4 they were very similar but had some differences. Seems odd that it has the Y Block if it were swapped in later... Of course lots can happen in nearly 60 years. The same doors will fit 61-66 so they could have been swapped at some point along with the newer front sheet metal. The fender badging is correct for 65 4x4... Also does the VIN# on the frame match the door tag? Cool truck.
We will look for the VIN on the truck frame tomorrow. Thanks to all for your interest and suggestions. The original paint under the repaint of the exterior appears to be military olive drab. The plot thickens!
Where the heater hoses run through the cowl, are they stacked vertically or are they side by side. That would indicate 64 or 65.....
They are horizontal, indicating a '65: ^^'65 truck heater hose arrangement is side by side ^^ firewall of '65 showing heater hoses penetrating horizontally ^^ a '64 has the heater hoses stacked vertically
Farmallmta,
Interesting truck...... Didn't most truck-installed 292 V8s have an exhaust pipe running across the front / above the engine? Maybe the exhaust manifolds are off of a car?
How about that hose coming off of the oil fill cap?
With a 4.56 rear gear, that baby would have been suited for tree stump pulling duty!
The oil fill cap has the attachment for the hose and that was used on the "closed system" similar to the 1964 at the link below. There are pictures of the engine, and you can see the hose runs to the top of the air cleaner. Similar systems for 1965/66 except the oil fill cap moved to the top of the driver's valve cover on the V8. It was part of the emissions control system.
With this link you can figure out what year the Y Block is from. Possibly see if it came from a car or truck.... TECHNICAL My 64 has that style oil cap to the bottom of the air cleaner... My 62 had the California emission PCV setup.
But what about that missing exhaust pipe across the front - Didn't most truck-installed 292 V8s have an exhaust pipe running across the front / above the engine?
Are the exhaust manifolds from something else - off of a car maybe?

These are the original Ford Rams Horns that came on some HD 292's in the larger series trucks. This engine in mine was installed in 1973 and has a 312 crank and a 4V manifold which the F100/F250's never came with from the factory. They do remanufacture the rams horns these days but these are Ford. They actually had the it collecting into a single exhaust like the factory had but I changed it to a dual exhaust. Still runs great.
