tires for 2002 exp
I just bought a used 2002 XLT Explorer V8 4WD and it has the stock 235/70 R16 tires on it. Id like to replace them (although I cant justify it for another couple months, haha) with the new Bridgestone Revo's. My question is this - do i need to get 235/70 tires on the replacement - or can i get a wider tire such as 245 or 255? Can I expect performance advantages from this - or will it just bind up and/or damage my auto-4wd (which is the only feature of the car I cant stand and Id like to just disable it). Im not a novice, but I have little experience with tires. Thanks for any opinions.

I dont plan on changing the wheels either, so my understanding is that I have to keep the exact tire size, becuase wheels are tire size specific. If i were going to buy new wheels, I would make the tires larger anyways. I dont have the $$ to do both, although I wish I did.
