I'm hoping to make the Ol' Red the daily driver again, so I decided to get rid of the dry-rotted 33x10.50 BFG ATs in favor of something a little more road friendly. I ended up going with a 17"x8" wheel from Vision called the Shift 148. For tires, I got P245/75r17 Goodyear Wrangler Adventure AT with Kevlar. The actual specs for the tire come out to 31.5" tall and 9.75" wide, which works out real well on the truck with 824 springs.
Man, the difference in ride quality is incredible! I had forgotten how quiet and smooth this truck could be.
After discounts and rebates, I got the tires, wheels, lug nuts, mount, and balance for cheaper than a new set of the 33x10.50 KO2s. Probably not everybody's cup of tea, but the 17's gave me a lot more options when it comes to purchasing tires.

I really like the rims.. if they make them a shade lighter or even chromed that would be sick.
Are those wranglers the budget wrangler or are they a step above that? Budget wranglers are junk in my opinion but that tire does look different than what Im thinking about. Unless it had a facelift in the last couple years

the color is a tad darker than Id prefer, but that can either be changed or honestly wouldnt look bad even then contrasted to my silver (Silver frost metallic) f150. These wheels instantly have gone to serious contender for future wheels! Thanks!! 15 inch tires for the win!!!! ($)

These aren't the Walmart cheapo Wranglers. They are a step above. The Goodyear Wrangler Adventure AT with Kevlar seems to run about $250 per tire for P metric(LT tires are a little more), but this particular size runs much cheaper. I think it's because it's an OE Jeep tire.

Yep, it comes in 15" and 17" diameter, and the hub bore is the correct size for the OBS F-150.

Oh nice. The el cheapo ones are..... ugh. My factory spare is one of them, and my truck had 4 of them when I first started using it. 1 died on my cousin , didnt believe him till the other died on me one day. The 2 remaining I tried to bounce them out of the bed when I got the truck back from tire shop and they hit the ground and didnt bounce... and the one had 5 patches in the inside of it(not sure what my gpa was running over!)
The traction was terrible and rode like haywagon
The only thing ill say is the dry rot hasnt progressed fast. sitting outside it probably only just this year started to have cracks (on the last 2 at least) despite being over 5 years old now and never being kept in garage when on truck or where they sit.
But those kevlar ones kinda look nice. makes sense on the Jeep thing.
