Howdy All, I like those suburbans Mike. A few parts are not available anymore on the gmt400 Suv’s, but if I came across a nice salt free one I’d be real tempted to go back to one, or the 800 series - 3/4 ton with the 6.0/4l80 and barn doors would work real well for me. Hard to find though.
Hi Jeff, this one was a B.C. Ministry of Forestry vehicle. A guy from Nova Scotia had travelled out there to work fighting a fire in 2010 and bought it at an auction to drive back home. Just south of Burk's Falls he hit a deer on highway 11, a guy I knew had the contract for OPP impounds and it sat in his storage yard for almost a year. I dropped in one day and he sold it to me with the parts to repair for 1500$. My body shop friend I have mentioned on here before fixed it for me and painted it. I bought the rims off Kjiji, put new tires on, then later , got the cowl induction hood at the Barrie Automotive flea market for 250$. I liked it, my wife did not. She had to take a running leap to get into it being 5'4. I bought her a clean Freestyle and then traded the burban for the F150 about 6 months later.
Hey guys, been busy with looking for a job, and having my driveway widened and the old pavement removed , and fresh gravel put down. They are building up the back yard also with a pad for the cabin and a patio. Speaking of the cabin, I went down to Collingwood and had it loaded and moved up here into the driveway until the yard work is completed.
Another wet rainy day with a few flurries this morning . Nice to see you are making your new home yours Mike . Takes time and lots of money. Not much happening here . Take care everyone .
Good morning Doug, Mike and Jeff. Started snowing here this morning and enough to paint the ground white again, supposed to turn to rain later but they now have up to 10 cm posted for next week...
