I have a 54 frame sitting in my shop with no cab, bed, engine or transmission. I am doing a semi-stock restoration. The rear end has been replaced with a 9" and the shock mounts are from Mid Fiftys, mounted in the center of the axle. The front end is stock. I have Posie reverse eye springs front and back, but they are only reversed on one end, not both. If there is someone with the same set up I would like to know what you are using for shocks. I would prefer to get the shocks installed before I install the engine, trans, body, etc. etc. I know its a shot in the dark but if someone has the same set up and can tell me what shocks will work it would be appreciated.
I know you are running Posies, so I don't know the ride height of your truck. But Monroe lists part# 32207 as a stock replacement which you could order from many parts suppliers. If the ride height, loop mounts, the compressed travel of 11.25" the fully extended of 17.87", and total travel of 6.625" work for you.
If you are looking for stem mount to loop, look into the Monroe 32126. Its a longer shock, with a travel length of 7.6 inchs, compressed at 11.75", and 19.3" extended.
I have a new set of 32126's on my truck and I am liking them.
I am NO expert on suspensions though.
