I know HEAT is overrated........ha but my heater slide controls to turn on the heater and defrost etc. is stuck !!! The slide arm is extremely hard to move if not at all I do not remember, anyway how do I loosen up the controls ???
HEAT would b nice this Winter..........I have looked and do not see why it is SO very hard to slide.
Is the valve on your heater hose in the engine compartment stiff when moved by hand? If not, maybe the wire needs a little lubrication and worked in by hand from the engine side.

I am about to go out and check........I have not looked at the controls recently because most attention has been elsewhere.........Thank-U for the reply.........
Np. I jumped on site to look up a torque spec instead of digging through books and seen it. My 70 f250s heater control was really tight when I first got it. I think I shot some WD 40 on the wire and worked it from the valve so I didnt brake anything in the cab. I forget what the part is called exactly.
