Door alignment

Does anyone have some good advise on door alignment. I put new weather stripping on my 79 F150 and now I've got to slam them things. With the old chewed up rubber I could close the door and it would sound like a new truck. Now with the new rubber I have to slam the door and it sounds like a tin can. Any advise? Thanks

Just went through this on a 53 Sunliner. Try the striker plate first it may be too far in.

The hinge mount inside the main body moves the door in and out not up and down so may have to work with these.

It took me four hours to get the desired results.

Good luck

The first thing you should check are the Hinge Pins. They are normally junk and wear out fast on the older Fords. Open the door and lift up on it slightly while watching the pins...look for play.

No adjustment in the world will help if you are using worn parts.
