I’ve read numerous forums/posts and I can’t figure this out.
Also, it is NOT my third brake light. Taken it off twice after rain and dry as a bone and gasket is sealing perfectly!
After a rain I noticed stained headliner on driver side rear corner of cab. Went out during downpour and sat in truck, water was slowly dripping from the very bottom/back of the headliner onto the driver side rear seat headrest. Carpet in entire truck is dry, the headrest seems to soak the majority up at least lol! Where else are common leaks back here? I’m OCD about keeping my truck perfect and this is absolutely killing me!
2017, did it just start randomly? I'd at least try to get the headliner down in that corner so you can see what's going on. With the headliner out of the way, you should be able to get an idea of how the water is getting in. If it's a body seam, I'd clean it up and use a sealant, just make sure you don't gob it on, create a water dam and force a new problem somewhere else.
My 2017 f250 XLT ccsb started doing this about 2/3 months ago. Kept noticing everything under the back seat was wet on the driver side. Passenger rear corner had a tiny bit of water inside. Driver had a lot.
during a rain storm I went out and watched it dripped.
from what I could tell it was the window seal. There was room on the outside of the cab between the window and the cab aluminum. I confirmed it was not the third brake light.
I had the truck almost 5 years before this happened.
