I have a 1992 ford f150 with e4od 107,000 miles and I have code 628 it wants to almost stall when going reverse or drive but it's drives fine going down road.
Stalling in reverse can be line pressure related,too low will allow the clutch to engage when not commanded,like in reverse. A psi gauge and line pressure test might tell you something.
