Original Paint You Think?

I'm trying to figure out if this truck is wearing its original paint? Can you tell from this pic? Not a deal killer of course but it'd be the cherry on top for sure.

Color doesnt look familiar to me. Scratch it a little and see what’s underneath?

Definitely one of these. I'm leaning towards Arcadian Blue. Unfortunately, the VIN plate is missing from the door

I'm not sure about the paint being OEM, but I do know for sure what those snaps around the rear window are. They were for something called a "boot". It was a vinyl or naugahyde item that was attached to the camper that allowed you to go from the camper to the truck while the truck was driving down the highway. Something I have done many, many times as a kid. My Late Dad bought a brand new 1967 Ford F-100 Camper Special with the Ranger package and when he put on the first camper he had them install a boot.

Nice observation. I'm leaning on the side of the paint being original but my wishful thinking could be clouding my judgement. :-)

What year is the truck? I see the same looking color with different names depending on the year.

Right. So what is that taped off paint line around the rim of the door?

It’s a ‘69.Does your two toned Camper Special look similar around the rim of the door on the inside?

Interesting. I guess I never noticed how it got "blended" into the interior color on two-tones.

There is a good article on the Fordification site about the paint process back then:
1967 Assembly Plant Paint Booth Gallery - FORDification.com

"...It was interesting how quality would slip as the day went on and quotas would be in danger. It really is true that you want your vehicle built around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Definitely not late in the day on Friday. Guys would be begging inspectors to pass their stuff, promising to send them out to dinner on them, etc. They’d also sneak the speed on the line a little faster to try and make up for any slippage. It was a constant battle between the union and the management over that issue..."
