Timing confirmation

I'm just trying to confirm that I used the correct procedure, and that my truck is timed correctly. I have a 1994 F250 XLT 460 E4OD. I opened the hood, removed the spout connector, attached my timing light, put inductance pick up on front passenger plug wire, started truck, with my timing light "innova 5568a" on "0" advance, the pointer was right on 10 BTDC which apparently is correct for stock, shut off truck, replaced spout, started truck, checked timing again and it was around 20-22 BTDC. Does everything seem correct?

I'm glad the timing is correct, but at the same time disappointed because I still have a fast idle.

Timing would have nothing to do with idle speed. The computer controls both of those things. How high is the idle and does it drop or stall out when you unplug the IAC?

Its just under 1K it drops to about 500 rpm when you unplug the IAC. All idle speed related items (except injectors which i haven't done yet) have been replaced mostly with motorcraft.

Which is what should happen and that suggests you have a wiring or PCM problem.
