Air intrusion

I’ve got a 7.3 idi with a definite air intrusion problem, I redid all the injector o rings and slapped a return line kit on, but the problem persists, I did notice a decent leak at the fuel selector valve, and Was wondering if air could get in through there?

If fuel can get out, air can get in. What are your symptoms?

its 100% air intrusion, it only starts when I crank for 15 seconds, Wait then hit the glow plugs and crank, or drain the schrader valve on the fuel bowl, just wondering if air can get in before the mechanical pump

Yes, air can get in before the mechanical pump, but in that case, the engine will start up fine and then stall as you drive down the road.
if you're certain you did a good job on the fuel injector caps, the. You should look at your fuel filter heater o-ring on the fuel filter head. It's pretty easy to replace, and it only takes a few special tools.

Well it starts up then dies after a few seconds I’d I don’t prime it, sorry forgot to mention that, but I only see a small amount of residue on the heater plug, could that small of a leak be the problem?

Symptom of a bad fuel heater o-ring is "engine starts normally, and stalls before you can put it in drive.". Usually 5-15 seconds of normal run timing before it stalls.
