Hello all, having issues with hyper flash on rear pass, side. new bulb, checked all connectors , pulled apart connector in rear shown in picture cleaned it and added dielectric grease and found this wire in picture blue-yellow in the wire loom not connected. Any ideas where this might go, could this be my problem? Pulled loom back as far as I could to try and find where is came apart with no luck, so not sure if was connected to another wire in the harness? Any help would be appreciated. Hyper flash is only on pass side. but lights dont operate nor does brake light, Thanks.
It's what your blinkers do when one of the turn signal bulbs are burned out, the indicator will flash faster than normal. This can also happen if you add LED's, the lower resistance of LED's makes the truck think the bulbs are burned out.
Just a FYI for those that do not know what hyper flash is or why it happens with LED bulbs in the turn signal locations, you can turn off the lamp outage notification (hyper flash) with ForScan. This way you can use LED bulbs without the hyper flash (2x flash rate).
Oh, sorry, I am sure this will only be applicable to certain years. I am not sure when Ford implemented the hyper flash feature and if it was also programable at that time. I know it goes back to at least 2013.
