9 inch, 31 spline?
Hi, on my 1982 ford f100 I know i have the 9 inch but im still not sure if it has 31 spline axles. I've looked at the ends of them and there is the two holes and the dot in between them, and I've heard those are the 31 spline axles. Is that a for sure thing that I have the 31 spline axles then? Also I've read about small and large bearings. Like measuring the bolt pattern on the end of the housing. What does the bearing size have to do with it? Im gonna rebuild the whole unit one day, just can't do it now. I'd like to know once in for all what I have? I've looked at the id tag and thats no help to what it has in term of splines or bearings.
