Hey there, I've had my '89 F-250 7.3 for about a year now. Mostly been fixing the myriad of electrical issues it has. The previous owner had his poor homemade wiring jobs running everywhere and it's been a nightmare in some cases to fix whats been melted together.
I am not very familiar with all of the parts and pieces of this truck so that's why I'm here. There is what I would describe as a metal plate under the back bench seat that has 3 wires and what appears to be a 4th signal wire running into it. One wire is grounded to the plate, another is wound chaotically around the engine bay and connected to the large terminal on the starter solenoid, and the third is connected to a relay and then cut off. If I had to make an uneducated guess I would say the plate is for holding some sort of CB radio setup, but I don't know for sure.
Thank you in advance for helping me identify this.
mobile two way radio mount plate.
these trucks were made before cell phones were in everyone's pockets.
so two way mobile radios were the "cell phone" of the day.
