Dropped the truck at the upholstery shop Monday for new leather seat covers installed (first & second row), new carpet, padding, and 2 layers of Kilmat on the floor. The third row never got used and is like factory new. She should be finished by Friday. Leather seat covers came from Richmond Leather in Texas. They supply quality!
sweet...doing the same within a year..curious...ballpark of what it cost...thank you for sharing
~$4,000 materials & labor. May seem high but when you consider the work involved and the outrageous cost for leather, and it’s California pricing, it’s about normal.
Picking her up tomorrow (Friday) so more pictures coming.
Your Ex is looking great, it seems like they are doing a professional job and yes it is a lot of work. I think 4k is reasonable for the materials and labor. Best of luck to you and keep us posted on the job.
Critique but no issues.
The seat heaters weren't compatible with the new seat heaters. The shop said the voltage going to the switch was only 3.7vdc. The new heaters need 12vdc so they mounted the switch just around the corner in from of the seat plastic. The new heaters are low/off/hi, a three position switch and factory is one setting.
The remedy I'm opting for is to fab a small plastic plate to fit into the cavity where the factory is located then mount the new switch there. Eazy-Peasy!
The carpet isn't laying flat with lots of wrinkles from being folded for shipping. I guess in a little time it will relax.
The seat covers could be steamed a bit to tighten them up, wonder if they did that. Otherwise looks good.
I think the steam option is best over heat gun, iron, or hair dryer.
Please share the name and location of the shop that did the work?
Did they replace any of the foam in the seats?
Nice job
Thanks
The OEM foam is no longer available so they had to build up areas that needed it. It’s a family owned shop and they did a fantastic job!https://www.theprestigecompanies.com

thanks for sharing. I was curious what it was going to cost for this process. I’m hoping maybe in Michigan a little less that Cali lol. This is my H.A.V.O.C. Mid restoration

Your truck is looking pretty awesome!
Living in SoCal, mine is more of an UAV (Urban Assault Vehicle). I call it an "urban crawler" for short. I have new Hyperspot Rigid pod lights coming to replace the regular spot version. I've had those on for nearly 3 years and never been happy with the beam pattern, hence the replacement to Hyperspots. Also I'm waiting to hear from Costco after they messed up my new recondition OEM wheels with hammer-on balancing weights. I have this in another thread.
Once those issues are complete, and probably after the new year, the roof will get Line-X coating from windshield to back edge of roofline. After speaking with Line-X, they suggest going black on the roof. My concern was heat from the radiant sun. Line-X says the sunlight gets refracted from the material texture and heat would not be an issue.
