Paint code question

Hello, I’m new to the forum and thanks for having me! I just purchased this 1978 F-150 sitting on a 2nd Gen Dodge chassis with a 12 valve and NV4500. I’m looking to have the truck resprayed, along with the interior floor as well. I wanted to check with the experts on the correct paint code of the green. From my research I think it’s “dark jade metallic” can anybody with more knowledge confirm this for me? Just don’t wanna spray the floorboards then have it not match the pilars and door jams. I’ve attached a few photos to confirm, my worry was that the hood is a different shade than the rest of the body, I’m guessing it’s from the patina/sun fade though.

Thanks

Welcome to FTE Ed....Lots of great dudes here that are always willing to help!

This is just my $.02, I would first try to save that paint! There are several different great products out there to preserve your paint and even bring most if it back to life! I appears to have some awesome patina, which to me makes this truck look killer! I think you would be surprised how this rig could turn out with a little work. As for the wheel well arc rust, I would try to grind/sand/cut out those areas (working slowly), then prime that area and fill it with fiber-glass, then seal, and paint only that section. Then maybe buff it down to kinda match the old paint. It appears that "might" be the original paint, and as they say, it's only original once!

But if that's not what you really want, I get that too!! The old vintage trucks are super cool with the proper work to make them look original with the right amount of patina, which to me, yours has that. Also, if your hood is also original/paint, you'll be surprise how much of the original paint you "might" be able to revive!

If that process does get you where you want it from an appearance, then you can always repaint it.

BTW--sweet truck!
