Mine has frozen up a couple times. I don't believe it was in Settings mode, but don't know for sure. I have to leave the truck off for an extended period (a few hours), in order for it to reset.
Not that I'm aware of. It's a computer system after all. Phones, desktops/laptops, even other UI systems from other vehicle manufacturers will occasionally see their UI freeze. Tesla's screens sometimes freeze for example, and they too have a button combo that you can hold in to reboot it. I'm sure any one given bug can be found and fixed, but there will always be another bug.

Well, at least I know how to reset it now. Thanks for that!
Mine (Sync3) jammed up once. Got it the truck and it froze up while booting up and trying to connect to my phone. Drove about 30 minutes that way. Stopped for gas. When I started the truck again it took a much longer time to boot, but finally did. No clue as to why, but my guess is I started the truck while the SYNC3 was getting/installing an update.
Could be. I never had this problem till I was uploading an update. Forgot to set my truck to not shut off automatically, so it shut off during the update. I quickly started it back up and the upload seemed to continue where it left off. Hmmm
Ive been having what I call a "Ghost" issue with my screen. With or without using Apple Carplay its like a Ghost is pushing buttons on the screen. So now I am relegated to having to power it off while I am driving. I just did the reset using the volume and seek key. Let's see if that takes care of the problem.

Start your vehicle. Ensure your vehicle is in park and running, not in accessory mode.
Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
Choose General.
Scroll down and press Master Reset. A message confirming that all system settings will be erased and reset to factory defaults will appear.
Press Continue. A Resetting to factory defaults message will appear, the system will turn off and the screen will go blank. It may take a few minutes for the system to reset and resume normal operation.
You WILL lose ALL of your settings when you do this.
So it seems to me that seijirou might be familiar with the navos Tesla style radio. I've been searching for months for anyone that can offer any information about these android units. I barely found anything. I have a first addition gen 4 and after the Ota update all sorts of things went haywire. The retailer of this product knows nothing about it and the manufacturer will not assist me because I'm not a vendor. Unfortunately, I'm not an experienced android developer either. There are programs that are missing and I'm scared to keep messing with it. And at worse senerio, I had an inverted backwards reverse touch operation touch screen. And no climate control. Required me to stand on my head and use a mirror to figure that one out. I've recovered from that but I have no bluetooth options and reverse camera is "not available" I've recently purchased three more cameras I'd like to install one day... hopefully soon because I'll be using my truck daily with a trailer in spring and navigate narrow passages to avoid ditches while towing skid stear. Anyone with any knowledge of this, I'd appreciate some input. My other option is take my truck to the computer rep6 guy lol

I know they exist, I've never put my hands on one. It sounds like you need to revert the firmware but without manufacturer support that's going to be very difficult. Every Android thing I've ever seen has a capability to revert to "out of the box" configuration which usually means returning to factory firmware as well. I found a reference to a service menu with some googling and perhaps such an option is in there if you haven't looked already. From the phone screen dial *123456# then press the green phone "call/answer" button.
Do you know if the OE manufacturer of yours is Linkswell? If it is there are several firmware versions available through this site, look for the "dropbox link" near the top for the actual firmware downloads. https://www.linkswellinc.com/support...fdpu12-1rr-4a/
