does any one know if a non fuelinjection head will work on a motor that was fuel injection. i am rebuilding a motor for my 82 that is carbed . the motor i'm replacing it with was fuel injected. however i'm converting it to carberator. the head on the newer style motor is warped beyond repair, will a head of a later style work on this motor. i know that they have different cc chambers , will switching the heads affect the running of the motor?not enough compression - to much , causing pinning. thanks for the help
Yes it will work. I took a almost new EFI engine, removed all EFI parts and installed it on my F150 1986 using ALL old parts from my stock 300, 1986, caburated.
The only different can be in compresion ratio. The new head has a bit more compresion. If you notice a bit of piping, pre-ignition or detoning, you can use 95 octane gasoline OR ratard 1 or 2 degress the ignition timing base.
