Hello everyone. First post here on the forum and hoping for some help help tracking down an electrical issue. My van was upfitted with a motor home (Born Free 24’). The upfitter added a small 4 slot fuse box just behind the brake pedal (pic 1). This box powers 4 circuits added by the upfitter (power/heated door mirrors, rear view mirror with screen for rear view camera, etc). This fuse box receives power (switched I presume) from a yellow wire/orange stripe that is in a bundle under the drivers side dash shown below. Pic3 shows the yellow/orange going to a wire nut full or orange wires which are the feeds for the 4 circuits I mentioned. Currently, there is no power in the yellow/orange wire so all 4 of the added circuits are dead. I haven’t been able to figure out where the yellow/ orange wire goes or how it connects to 12v. I’m thinking of running a jumper from the battery to see if that repowers my 4 circuits. The yellow/orange below the dash also connects to the dead end connector shown in pic 2 which lives in the engine compartment. I’d probably put the jumper between this connector and +12v. But that doesn’t help me figure out where the break is and why it happened in the first place. Mice are always a possibility with MH’s but I see no signs of their normal skullduggery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Maybe it’s tied in to the original fuse block. What chassis do you have? If it’s aftermarket wiring then they probably didn’t hide the yellow wire as good as Ford would have. Look for it under the hood. They could’ve grabbed power off of something besides the battery
Thanks guys. It’s a 2013 E350 superduty chassis. If there’s another chassis description I don’t know it. The yellow/orange wire appears to be part of the factory wiring. It disappears into a wrapped loom with about 30 other wires and runs up high behind the drivers dash. I suspect it’s heading out to the relay box under hood since at least one of the aftermarket circuits is 30 amps. That box also has a few relays designated for “upfitter use” and one has a relay in it. My continuity tester says the yellow/orange wire behind the dash is connected to the yellow/orange wire in that 4way dead end connector under hood (pic 2). Any body know what that connector is for ?
The other end has the mating connector on it. The wire holes in the mating connector have rubber plugs in them (factory style). It’s basically just acting as a cover.
Those cab and chassis vans come ready for tons of options for the upfitter
Like a generator
The orange wire with no power may go to a fuse link that might not be hooked up yet? or is burnt
You should be able to get a cab and chassis wiring diagram for your 13 on AllData

2013 printed EVTM: 2013 EVTM That's a whopping great deal for one of these!
The added fuse block could be poiwered by a fuse in the Battery Junction Box aka power distribution fuse block under the hood. An EVTM and the 2013 owners manual will show fuse locations and circuits they protect.
Thanks JWA - I ordered it being the old school retired guy that I am, I prefer paper manuals. Much appreciated.
The one I linked was an incredible great price---these are getting more rare to find and naturally escalating in price.
Well printed manuals never "crash" so that's just one advantage!
A few years back I started collecting the Ford OEM EVTM's from all years beginning 1997 and stopping about 2017. For van's I actually owned I purchased at least 2, one for the truck, one for the office and sometimes one more to leave in the shop. They remove so much guess work or having to consult anyone with them literally in hand.
