guage cluster swap
Hi all, the guage cluster in my 93 f150 302 needs a replacement. Guages aren't working and the display for the mileage started going bad and is getting worse and worse and harder to see. I see some guage clusters pop up on marketplace but I'm wondering if I got a different cluster, would the miles be from the original truck that it was on or would it just revert to how many miles that are on my truck? If that's true does anyone know a good place that restores or fixes guage clusters? Thanks.

The odometer count is resident on a chip & sometimes given the right skill, can be moved to another PSOM board if the original is not repairable.
You'll see 2 big can style capacitors on the board that sometimes leak just as bad as ECU caps, but can be replaced with a modicum of success.

The critical component of the PSOM board is the 8 pin chip to the left of the processor in the above pic.
When all else fails, it can be carefully removed and installed onto a new PSOM board, which will then bring your mileage along with it.
But it sounds like you have bigger problems if other gauges are also misbehaving- the PSOM only does the speedo and odometer.
