Chrome or painted emblem

I wanted to use a set of plain aluminum valve covers on my truck but I wanted to add something that was unique and was Ford related to them. I have 2 sets of the 67 hood emblems and they fit nicely on the top of the valve covers. I was thinking the original chrome with red but I have a number of parts painted cast iron so I tried one painted and now I can't make up my mind as I like them both.

Should I go original chrome and red or painted cast iron and red?

Really love the subtle touch!
my vote is for the one on the cover without the oil cap, with less red. I feel the other one asks for too much attention and is a bit tacky. The one I like with just red highlights on it and your red plug wires, its just enough.
my opinion but great work either way!

My 1st thought was for the cast iron painted one. But, the chrome does match well with the chrome air cleaner.

This was the reasoning behind my vote for chrome

Yep that's why I thought the "original" look of them would go well and look great.... and in my opinion they do but for some reason I just can't leave things alone and I sprayed one cast iron and now I like it just as much.... I posted it on one of the Facebook groups and seems to be more leaning to the cast iron painted one but not by much and same here. So realistically it doesn't seem like I can go wrong I just need to choose one now...

Off the truck I like the "cast iron" one, but on the truck, I prefer the chrome. Less contrast and matching the air cleaner are my reasons, for what that's worth.

SO... who makes or made those covers?
I got them in a bulk parts trade so I'm not sure as they have no markings but they do look a lot like the ones that JEG's offers... So all you need are some hood emblems and your good to go...
