sorry got to rant!!
Let me set the scene...
Its really windy outside( 20 mph susatained winds , 45-60 mph gusts) Im pulling doubles down the highway goin aprox 65-70 mph which is a handfull in and of itself..
A (chebby) truck is entering the highway from the ramp..
I move over to the inside lane to let him on (common curtisy right?)
He gets up to speed and matches mine about in the middle (by the dolly) so i continue on with my speed fighting the wind and tryin to keep my truck in my lane... he wont slow down or speed up.. so I slow down to get behind him and get on the outside lane for faster vehicles.... I was a bit
but no worries THIS
SLOWS DOWN!!!!! so I swing out into the inside lane and attemp to pass, thinking he may be turning or something.. he gets in the middle of my truck and speeds up!!!!!!so I turn my blinker on to move back over into the outside lane and he holds his position!!!! so once again I slow down to get behind him,... you guess it he slows down!!!! now Im
.. I lay the wood to it and scream by him get in front and slam on the brakes...( smoked all the tires lol
)He then passes me and has the nerve to give me the birdy
just another reason there is road rage!!!!!
thanx for lettin me rant
do the math: chevy pickup vs 18wheeler, umm, maybe I'm dumb cause I didn't go to college, but I just don't see the pickup winning
anytime I'm on the freeway, I try not to be beside a big rig- most of the drivers are pretty good, but a sudden gust of wind, or a blowout, or some others driver error, or tthe trucker could even just have a coronary or something- any of these and I'm SOL
I guess people are just stupid
too bad the laws protect them

Don't blame the driver.............Blame the VEHICLE.................
Chevy's.........Never understood them...........

I used to pull for North American a few years back and drove an old GMC Jimmy. That thing would drive straight as an arrow, You could take your hands off the wheel and it would stay in the lane. Anyways when i would come up on folks like who your talking about i would wait till they pass me in the hammer lane and i would take both hands and adjust the outside mirror. Needless to say they would soon quit and some of the looks on their faces were priceless. I did'nt make a habbit of doing that all the time but some instances warranted it.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I was on a two lane road and traffic is stopping. A tractor/trailer pulls into the left lane and I see his right hand blinkers come on in my mirror. I figure he is making a wide right and wants to be first in the left lane. So, I slow way down and as he pass me I see he has big "this truck makes wide turns" blinker arrows and signs on the back of the trailer.
He is first in the left lane, I am first in the right lane, but, I have stopped 20 or so feet back so he can clearly see my truck in his mirrors and I can see his face. I wave/motion to him so he knows I know he is making the turn. So, we wait for the light.
Just as the light changes and he starts to move (while I wait for him to complete the turn while he drags the trailer around), this numb person in a small foriegn car, whizes in around me because they think I am taking too long, and stops at the right hand corner. By this time the truck can no longer see OR hear anything. Drives square over the car. This person did not even have the sense to drive backwards or over the curb.
Man, I was so angry I stuck around for the police offiers so I could tell them in no uncertain terms what I thought of the car driver. How they had caused a preventable accident and were probably trying to commit suicide and should be checked for drugs.
Other best one.
I was on RT1 Saugus MA driving in the slow lane, tractor was in the middle lane, and traffic was about 55 mph and medium. Lady in a small foriegn car is whizzing and passing everyone like a race car driver. Does not SEE the tractor and drivers right under the middle of the trailer and gets caught behind the rear wheels as it pushes the car down the highway. The car was completely under the truck. Tractor driver did not even know she hit him until I started honking and flashing my lights and he can see the sparks and smoke flying now. I think he probably thought he blew a tire.
How her head did not get cut off I will never know. I stuck around for the cops to fill out the report so the truck would not be charged with the accident, but, not for the extraction of this moron. I tell you, when a tractor drags a car sideways down a highway at 55, there is not much left afterwards.

I was being trained to drive the Army's version of a semi. Taller, all wheel drive, semi-auto, and a bitchin green paint job.
So there I was with a Cat D7 dozer on the lowboy as idiots in cars cut in front of me repeatedly. I never did have a problem, but all I was thinking was "if I have to try to stop this thing suddenly, you are toast!" I may be stupid, but I'm not dumb!
I try like hell not to pass anyone, especially trucks! on the right. Thank goodness most truckers are responsible people because I've seen some REALLY amazing things over the years.
