Hello all. This may have been asked and answered. I recently had some repair work done on my Ex's back door. Apparently, when it was in the shop for 280+ days. some homeless yayhoo decided to try to make my Ex their new home. They tried to get in the back by prying opened the window. Well the shop's insurance paid for the repair but they wrecked my "limited" emblem and now they can't find a replacement. Has anyone ever found a supplier or custom shop who makes these? Of course Ford doesn't! Grrrr. (I did search the forums for anything on the emblem but could not find anything on it.) I did read someone's post years ago about using a different Limited emblem with a different font, but then it won't match my front seats so I would prefer to stick with the original. Thank you in advance!

I just had my 2001 X painted and I told him to be careful taking the Limited emblem off. Its the only one you can't get. Of course he broke it taking it off. We have the pieces and my son is trying to 3d print a new one. I'll let you know how it comes out. It will probably be black but it can be painted.

I know right? And that's a GREAT idea! I did find a company who makes something similar. It's the same size and a really similar font (the L doesn't have quite the flourish the original does) but it's stinkin' pricy. $49.95! Luckily, I don't have to pay for it since the shop who damaged my door is paying for it. But it is "chrome". It's at goduckee.com. I'm still waiting for the approval from the shop on the cost.
How is it attached and what is the proper method to remove it? Maybe I can find a junkyard emblem for you.
Thank you! It is a stick on emblem and very easy to break as The Jackalope found out. I have no idea how anyone would remove it unless they used some kind of glue solvent?

$49.95 isn't bad when you consider your options. Try searching for other parts for our trucks, like a rear quarter glass, a new steering wheel, and so many others. If it were me, I'd go with the black 3D printed one. Black accents are clean looking. Oh, the other option of a used part is great as long as it's in really good condition.

Was your son able to print a 3D of your emblem? My SIL has 3D printer too but he needs the artwork to be able to print it.
I had my truck painted and the emblem fell off afterwards or was taken. I've been searching for the limited emblem (YC3Z-7842528-BA) and the closest I could get is the entire barn door on Ebay but it is quite costly including freight.

The explorer limited has one on each front door and one on the liftgate. Look for one at a junkyard. Use fishing line carefully to remove them. It will cut through the adhesive but you have to take it slow. I broke the first one I tried it on.
