transmission slippage
Do us all a favor and let us know where this menace of a mechanic (and I use the term mechanic loosely)is located. Sure would not want any of my friends or some other unsuspecting soul to have to go through what you two did.

Hey
I'll answer the last 2 posts with what follows.
Too begin with, it was that vacuum hose thing.....no doubt about it. No sooner had this dummy plug that had been pulled been replaced than our truck immediately (and I mean right NOW) smoothed out engine wise and the tranny simply started workin' as sweetly as it had before being screwed around with.
There is a social responsibility that goes hand in glove with situations like this that go beyond the idea of recouping money. Susan and I feel that if we'd a let this malcontent get away with such malicious shananigans that he'd only have visited his miseries on the next person. Thus, we called the local corporate staff officer in charge of Marathon Franchisees and had a meeting at our house last Friday. The local station manager/owner attended, as well, and we laid out the scenerio as completely as the opportunity allowed. Frankly, I like this owner/operator (Gary) and had repect for the way he ran every conceiveable angle regarding how this could all be "just some kinda mistake." The gravity of the situation required a "voice of reason" (Susan) at times because I did, in fact, get a little emotional everytime I remembered thinkin' bout how weird it can get out on the road nowadays and this "jerk off" intentionally tried to place my wife in harm's way.
All in all, Gary was gonna go back to his station and confront our manic depressive mechanic with the gory details and the Marathon Franchise Person representing corporate paid attention and took a lotta notes.
Where it goes from there/here will depend on the response we get today from the both of them. Obviously we want our money back and since we paid with a credit card will dispute the entirety of any billing regardless if were agreed with by marathon or not. Yet, let's face it, the guy outta be fired.....plain and simple. Thinking along this line gives no pleasure, whatsoever, for either Susan or Myself. Frankly, we've got a ton of other things to do at this time and this hassle only puts us further behind. We figure it's the "Social Responsibility" thing, if we don't deal with this others are gonna get nailed and although a royal pain in the *** all around, we have no choice but to choose to say "hey, no more."
Until we hear from these folks we best avoid printing the stations name and local here in Mishawaka Indiana. We don't wanna hurt the station owner/operator's business reputation if he decides to handle this situation with integrity because the mechanic is an employee and did this on the sly.
The silver lining is that we've found this list and appreciate the company of such helpful folks, as yourselves, who care enough to help neophytes like MyMamasita and Me.
...M...
Welp, the service station owner/manager decided to play the ol', "Well, nobody actually saw him do it" routine and , thus, "No one can actually prove anything."
Damn, sorta pathetic and less than I expected, but there ya have it. We gonna have ta go to Marathon's corporate customer service on this thing, now, and see what (if any) satisfaction can be achieved from that end. The name of this Marathon Franchise is as follows and we would recommend that ya stay clear.
