I'm new to the site so if I'm at the wrong place let me know. I have about 14 F100, F110's and a 250. One special one is a 67 Ranger F100 with factory buckets seats, and a DSO number I would like to explore. It would be a complete rebuild and I'm wondering if it will be worth it. I will probably get a Marti report shortly. Any advice?
IMO, 4x4 versions enjoy higher resale values, and would provide a better return on a restoration. however, rarely do people recover what they invest, that said, rebuild the one in the best condition. Bucket seats aren't really a big deal, they could have been ordered on any vehicle. Been on this forum quite a while, never seen anyone save the DSO "blue envelope" that was provided by Ford. The Marti report does list the original selling dealer, and they also had a copy of the special equipment used on a DSO vehicle, but, it's a long shot though.
Thanks for the reply. I've got three 4x4's in line for restoration. The yellow 67, and two 72's, all short beds. I don't really do long bed 2 wheel drives, but if the rarity justifies it I will. If not I will use the 67 with buckets as a donor for a 428 Cobra Jet build coming up next.
