Hi I have a 1990 F-800. When I shift the 2speed the slide block breaks. I replaced it and it does it again. What does this mean? What should I be looking at.? does it mean the rear needs to be rebuilt? Does it mean the fork is bent and if it is how do I check to se if it is before I tear the rear out?
What is your axle code on the certification label? We can find out the make/model on the axle and look for info from that.
IIRC and as long as I've been on this forum, you are the first person with a broken part in a two speed. Lots of gummed up old ones, bad motors, missing vacuum lines etc on old trucks, but nothing broken like this.
Since it's a '90 we know it's not an old vacuum shifted Eaton under truck that sat out for 30 years.... but we need that make and model to go further.
