Volt conductive loop
Will it pick up the correct amount if using plastic coated wire instead of cloth covered wire .? Truck buddy is building a '50 COE ramp truck to haul his '33 PU. . Told him I would ask around .

Are you talking about the inductive loop on the back of the charge/discharge ammeter? If so the anwer is the wires jacket material shouldn't make a difference. Unless it is some sort of sheilded cable that contains the inner conductor, insulation, woven wire or foil shield, then another cable jacket that the inner shield is grounded at one end or the other. Some of that is now common in newer vehicles. But as long as you are using standard, automotive wire or cable. It should work.
