Came from older vehicles, eh? your truck also has FLASH-TO-PASS feature, which may actually be law in your state(its not mine, no one hardly ever does this for passing on the road) but it is the opposite direction you pull the lever(instead of push away) it will light the high beams until you let go. So good tip if you ever encounter a switch that wont stay in high beam, try the other way. My car, for example, you pull the lever till it clicks, then let go, flash to pass is done by lightly pulling. pulling again will turn it off
Like my daughter, her first car was my Nova.
Stomp button on the floor lol. When she got the newer Silverado from her grandfather, she was lost on how to turn on the brights.

my first car had the column switch, but even tho im young I actually learned about the button first because my dad had a 75 dodge and still a 75 gmc that had the floor button. Then I got a 77 LTD , floor. Then my square(1980 gmc), floor. I like the floor button tbh.
