Yep, that’s why I would go to Crutchfield or a similar source and find an aftermarket unit rather than spend that kind of money on a system with known issues. Sync3 has had more than it’s fair share of reliability issues.
Thanks for the input…… I have to give it some thought ….I checked out the site that JKBrad sent me…….pretty good……. Unfortunately under the build back better program I’m going to have to wait…….. I do have a nice set of binoculars in the truck to see my existing screen now though!………
If you have a perfectly good truck, how could it be more cost effective to trade it in just to get a bigger screen? I have a 2015 with 64k miles on it. Spent $1600 replacing/upgrading suspension parts and brakes. No way would it have been more cost effective to buy a new one just to replace wear items.
My opinion is that it's more cost-effective to get a new truck.
This is a good point. Normally I would say that's crazy but the automotive market is so upside down now.
In February my wife and I sold a 2020 Hyundai Palisade and made over $10k on it. Turned around and used that as a down payment on my F150. It won't last long, that's for sure...

I get your point unless the goal is to just get the larger screen. However, it's a lot more than just the screen. A newer truck will have not only the larger screen, but the 7-year-newer electronics like Sync4, CarPlay, AAuto, etc. It might depend on how long you intend to own it as well.
My 2016 only has 36000 miles on it ….. 5.0 motor I do like it….. I do have a friend that has a auto salvage yard so that maybe an option…… the truck market is crazy!….. I just sold my 2006 super duty 5.4 gas motor for $27000.00……. Not bad for a truck I bought brand new for $28250.00!…….. I loved it but just time to go!……. Thanks for all the input on the screen…I will keep you guys posted….
So has there been any more research into whether the sync 2 conversion can be done by using forescan rather than going through 4dtech? Or is it in a different thread somewhere?
