What headlight bulbs do you all use?
Recently put “Sealight” brand bulbs from Amazon in another vehicle with good results but comparisons to stock there aren’t really fair.

Also, you’ll probably want to check the cutoffs and potentially adjust your housings down since you’ve got the big lift.

I recently purchased and installed new Ford Stock housings for my headlights. I have been using the Sylvania high end bulbs for years. Better than the stock bulb but not great. Also, a much shorter life span as per Sylvania.
I just bought the Beamtech LED's that Racing Jackson used. The ballast and wire were a bit too big to pass through the Ford retaining ring . Could have easily been modified, as per many Youtube videos. But I chose to return them and bought this set.

$51.99 $49.99
This Beamtech bulb mimics the exact connector/plug dimensions of the stock bulb. Strictly plug and play.
Much better than the stock or high output halogens bulbs from Sylvania. I have not been flashed 1 time, even on high beams. I do have them aimed a bit low. The bulbs must be clocked in the correct position as well. Very easy. Really clean cutoff light pattern.
To all the naysayers who say putting LED's in stock housing is irresponsible, they are partially correct. If I aim the lights too high, they will blind other drivers. But aimed correctly, 99% better than halogens. I can drive at night and see!
The only downside that I have experienced so far is this:
The halogens bulbs will illuminate the high and low filament for extra light if you pull and hold the bright beam stalk. This illuminates the low beams, highbeams and fog/driving lights at the same time. The LED's from Beamtech will only illuminate either the low beam or the high beams. Not both at the same time.
Even so way better than any halogen bulb I have used. Not even close. In fact the fog/driving lights are now not noticeable as the headlights are so much stronger than before. Now to order the LEDS for the fogs/driving lights!
Just my opinion! But I do have 386k experience driving this Ex in all conditions except winter driving. Never been in snow with the Ex.

It’s been a while so I can’t say for sure, but I’m pretty confident that the ballast gets removed for installation. Seems like I had the same concern but found it in the directions.
Remove the heat sink from back of the bulb.
Fish wires through factory ring.
Reinstall heat sink.
Agree with you, there is NO comparison to stock bulbs. Like you said, I can now see!
I did not have to aim the headlights for the bulbs. The cutoff looked pretty good so I ran with it. No one has shown and complaints so they haven’t been touched. I do feel like low beam might be ever so slightly high when pulling a trailer.
Only time I have ever been flashed was while creating a hill on a backroad and the car was over the crest. So in that case the beams were higher than normal and no amount of adjusting would have corrected it.
I did end up installing the Beamtech fog lights as well.
These 9007 bulbs are well under $10/PAIR and will put more light further down the road than any of the drop-in LED options.
I use www.rallylights.com for relay harnesses and get the bulbs from Summit Racing.
The LED’s I bought for Dawn’s truck are a temporary fix until I can get rid of the ‘05-07 headlight housings. These housings and their 9008/H13 bulbs suck. A decent bulb like the Sylvania Ultra’s cost more than the LED’s I picked up. I’m not a fan at all and still do not recommend LED bulbs for any of these stock housings.

I have this set up in my F350 and Excursion.
