Hey Sandymane,
I'm not terribly internet saavy. When you say 'research,' where would I go to conduct this research? As for codes on the door jam sticker (see below), what codes are you referring to, and where on Google should I go with them? Please excuse my ignorance.
Thanks...
An example would be to go to Google and type in "What is the 1991 ford transmission code E" Somewhere on the page it shows E is for a Ford E4OD Which is what you have and it is a 4 speed auto with OD over drive. I ALWAYS drive in Overdrive with my E4OD. The E4OD is computer controlled and when you get into diagnosing the computer it can identify transmission problem codes which is a nice feature. Always check the fluid level and fluid condition on your trans and it will serve you well if not mistreated or neglected in the past.
Go to google and type what is ford door jamb axle code 19 . that will show you have a 3:55 rear end which is a good all around gearing.
Is there anything specific you want to know or are you just curious? The second link and the 4th link in the below article allows you to find out about your VIN features. https://www.google.com/search?q=ford...client=gws-wiz

Almost everything you need to know is right there on that decal.
GVWR = Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: The maximum weight the truck can weigh with all passengers and cargo
GAWR = Gross Axle Weith ratings: Maximum weight capacity of the axles
Trans code E = E4OD
Axle code 19 = Ford 8.8 with 3.55 open differential
Springs D 7: D = Front, 7 = Rear.
