This wheel is absolutely disgusting. Looks fun to clean as well.

 

I’ve got the flaking pvd chrome 20” lariat wheels on my ‘17 and when these Ridge Grapplers are needing replaced, it’ll be an aftermarket 18” wheel/tire package for me. I like the thicker sidewalls, both the looks and strength. I won’t bother to delve into the 18” vs 20” debate, other than to say that I’ve hit capacity several times on my 20” wheel/tire combo and they performed flawlessly.

 

I have these on my 2021, and plan to have them swapped to my 2022 platinum when it arrives. these would look great on the 2023MY as well, perhaps I am biased

I am glad I ordered the 22 model, since its the last of the nice wheels. Its been sitting at the dealer for 3 weeks and probably another 3 weeks till I get the time to get it. Probably give my 18 model to my dad.

 

Bill Ford needs to track down the designer who designed that wheel and the manager who approved it and send them packing.

 

I didn’t either until mine started flaking off and I wrote about it on this forum. Getting rid of them as soon as these tires they’re on wear out.

 

The chrome looked great on my '20 XLT Premium, but unfortunately, that "chrome" doesn't last. I'm happier with my '22 KR aluminum.

 

Yeah that's not real chrome. The PVD coating, I have been told, is something like a powder coat finish. Owners manual advises not to use a harsh tire cleaner or chrome polish on them. I avoid anything harsh and just use the same car wash soap as used on the paint. As I said, they look pretty good, it's just they have this flaking finish issue.

 

I liked those so much, I bought 2021 take-offs and put them on my 2018.

 

I hate black wheels, so that means that I don't like over 50% of Ford's wheels right out of the gate. And the ones that aren't black don't have a good look to them just going by the one TFL video...

 

I’m not a big fan of all black wheels, myself. My problem is that I have a race red truck which has the chrome package combined with Gloss black bumpers and nerf bars. I can’t get into chrome wheels anymore, so I’m sorta backed into the “gloss black wheels” corner! I LOVE the Fuel Rebel 8 in Gunmetal and bronze, but don’t feel that those would fit with the colors of my truck.

 

Are you kidding? The bronze/black wheels would look great on a red truck. Look at all the red-car/truck & gold-wheel combos in the world.
